Hints, Tips & Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
Selecting an appropriate NBN provider depends on your individual requirements. For individuals seeking a more reliable service, particularly those with essential medical needs, Telstra often stands out as a reliable choice.
However, for those seeking dependable NBN service without specific medical considerations, we lean towards suggesting Aussie Broadband due to their exceptional customer service and consistently high-quality offerings. We actually utilize their services ourselves. If you’re interested in benefiting from a $50 discount on your first month, kindly sign up by clicking the following link.

Bring it to us immediately. Do not put it in rice and hope for the best. To protect your phone after getting it wet, it is important to disconnect the battery immediately. Unfortunately, most phone batteries are not easily accessible, so you need to get them to a service center immediately to have the battery disconnected so it doesn’t short and destroy the internal circuits. Placing it in rice usually results in further damage as the rice often gets lodged in the charging ports etc.
If your mobile phone service provider does not cover the East Coast of Tasmania, don’t worry – you can still stay connected through WiFi Calling. By turning on WiFi Calling, your phone can receive calls and messages over any WiFi network, including those shared through mobile hotspots. This means that as long as there is a WiFi network nearby, you can use your phone for communication, regardless of your mobile provider’s coverage. Contact us to learn more about setting up WiFi Calling and other connectivity solutions for your remote location.
On iPhone, go to Settings –> Phone –> WiFi Calling. For Android, it is under Settings –> Connections.
In areas where traditional cellular service is limited or unavailable, we recommend a combination of Starlink satellite service and WiFi Calling. With Starlink’s high-speed internet service, you can ensure that you have broadband connectivity at your location. WiFi Calling provides an alternative to traditional cellular service, allowing you to make and receive calls and texts, even in areas with no cellular coverage.

Ensure you do not have two connections to your NBN modem/router. You should either choose wireless (WiFi) or cable to connect to the internet, never both. Otherwise, the connections can interfere with each other, resulting in an unstable connection. We often find the problem is fixed by simply removing the cable.
Mobile coverage on the East Coast of Tasmania is inconsistent and there are many personal factors that can influence which plan you should choose. Firstly, we do not recommend post-paid plans, as the pre-paid plans are usually more economical. One of the most common money saving tips we offer is to move to a pre-paid plan once your post-paid contract ends, since the telco’s assume you will just continue paying your default plan without considering the cost implications.
Yes, it is important to be responsible for your own phone setup. If you leave the setup of your phone to those at the store where you purchased it, you may not have all the necessary security information you need in order to replace the phone in the future. Ensure you know the email address and password used when setting up your new phone and record the details somewhere safe. Otherwise, you may loose your precious memories later down the track.
To be sure, contact us and we can ensure you are protected, even after the phone is already setup.
Yes, but we specialise only in Apple-branded products due to the inconsistent quality of other branded devices. We also only recommend Apple products due to their superior features, security and build quality.
